For 20 years, artists and models have been gathering for the World Bodypainting Festival to celebrate their craft.

With designs ranging from surreal to straight-up alien, artists compete in categories for skill levels, techniques like paintbrush, sponge and airbrushing as well as in special effects at the event held in Klagenfurt am Woerthersee, Austria.

Organizers say artists from up to 50 countries will participate this year.

While the festival officially began Friday, the side-events kicked off earlier in the week.

At one even this week, the World Bodypainting Academy worked with artists to develop creations inspired by H.R. Giger, a Swiss artist whose work often combine human forms and machines.

An amazing video has emerged of a woman turning herself into a floating jumper on a hanger with makeup. The footage, shot in Serbia on Monday, shows makeup artist Mirjana Kika Milosevic tracing the outline of her design before she uses black paint to make her face disappear.
