- Topical BioMedics Inc. in Rheinbeck, N.Y., makers of Topricin pain relief products, has appointed Darien native Patricia Martin, a Saugerties, N.Y., resident, as marketing director. She will be responsible for coordinating the company's advertising, public relations and other promotional activities.
Before joining Topical BioMedics, she was a freelance marketing communications consultant, copywriter and public relations practitioner for such clients as the New York State Canal System, the New York State Archives, Combe Inc., Kodak, The Martin Luther King Foundation, Beatrice, Hearst Publishing and the General Electric Co.
The author of six non-fiction books, she has been assisting the public relations department at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck since August 2008.
- Longroad Asset Management LLC in Stamford has added four professionals to its investment team after the closing of the firm's third fund, Longroad Capital Partners III LP.
Peter McLaughlin joins Longroad as director of originations. He has more than 20 years of experience originating, structuring and investing debt and equity in middle-market companies. Previously, he was head of loan originations at Gottex's middle-market private debt fund.
McLaughlin was director of originations at Contrarian Capital Finance LP and a senior officer in the Capital Solutions Group at GoldenTree Asset Management. He also has held positions at Wells Fargo Foothill, Crowe Capital and J.P. Morgan.
He has a bachelor's degree from Colorado College and a master's in business administration degree from the University of Chicago.
Ross Sealfon and Brian Hong have joined Longroad's investment team, and Adrienne Cerulo has joined the firm as controller.
Sealfon was a vice president at de Visscher, a boutique investment bank, where he was involved in executing mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and structuring financial solutions for middle-market clients. Previously, he was a senior analyst in Ernst & Young's Transaction Advisory Group and a research analyst for International Data Corp. Sealfon, who has a bachelor's degree from Middlebury College and a master's in business administration degree, began his career at CMGi.
Hong formerly was an associate with General Atlantic LLC, a global private-equity firm, where he evaluated and executed leveraged buyout and growth equity investments. He has a master's in business administration degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Cerulo was a corporate accountant at Weston Capital Management, a fund of funds. Previously, she was a senior fund accountant for Sageview Capital and a business analyst for UBS's fixed-income group. She has a bachelor's degree and master's degrees from the University of Connecticut.
