Promotion at BayGroup
Ron D'Andrea, long-time local resident who has worked out of its Darien office for more than 20 years, was promoted to president of BayGroup International, a global performance improvement firm with locations in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Prior to his appointment as president, D'Andrea served as executive vice president of global sales for the company.
Under his leadership, BayGroup International has prospered with profitable year-over-year sales growth to become one of Darien's thriving small businesses.
Burstream's new service
Burstream of Darien announces the NanoSpeed Market Data Mesh service for NASDAQ OMX proprietary traders. Deployed and tested during periods of historically high message volumes, the service provides a deterministic data feed processing time of 600 nanoseconds. The Burstream market data infrastructure is in operation at NASDAQ Carteret facilities and is immediately available for clients to utilize by crossconnecting to the mesh or directly hosting their algorithms on co-located servers.
The service is based on a high performance, engineered infrastructure that uses FPGA `pure-silicon' feed handlers and order book managers supplied by NovaSparks as well as componentry from Vello Systems, Arista Networks and other high-performance technology suppliers.

Chase opens ownership center
Chase has officially opened its new Stratford homeownership center to help families struggling with their mortgage payments.
The center, at 99 Hawley Lane, Suite 1104, offers face-to-face counseling for distressed borrowers who have a home loan serviced by Chase or EMC. It is Chase's first homeownership center in Connecticut, and the sixth to open in the tri-state area.
The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
Borrowers with a Chase or EMC mortgage may call 203-336-6508 to make an appointment at the Stratford center if they are behind on their mortgage or are current on the loan but face financial hardship that may cause them to fall behind.
Connecticut's two Association of Fundraising Professionals chapters will hold their annual all-day conference on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the CoCo Key Hotel and Convention Center in Waterbury. Scheduled speakers include Deb Heinrich, nonprofit liaison to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

Women to speak at summit
The Connecticut Women's Alliance, an organization that seeks to support the advancement of women and girls through educational programming and events, is hosting the Connecticut Women's Summit.
