Alternative medicine, hypnosis, integrative nutrition, weight management and holistic healing are only some of more than 100 exhibits slated for the second annual Health & Wellness Expo, May 25 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Stamford Plaza Hotel, 2701 Summer Street.

With the theme, Healthy, Wealthy and Wise, this year's event will showcase not only the latest advancements in the health arena, but also feature special exhibit categories, such as pet wellness, senior health, financial health and healthy homes. The Health & Wellness Expo 2011 will also host "the healthiest cocktail party" with healthy beverages and food from local restaurants and markets.

The evening's special guest is health and fitness advocate Brittany Decker, Miss Connecticut 2010, who will speak about her fitness regimen and perform her "Dancing with the Stars" number. There will also be demos from Jazzercise, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, The Greenwich Ballroom, LA Boxing, The Training Floor, Punch Kettlebell Gym and Carozza Fitness, which was recently featured on the "Today" show.

David Lerner Associates of Darien will also participate in the Health & Wellness Expo.

Exhibit highlights include: Hypnosis for Health, nutrition coach Mindy Kannon of Chew Your Rope, the Sadkhin Complex of Westport, an all natural weight loss program using acupressure, Sacred Doors, a holistic healing and education center in Wilton, EcoMaids, a green home cleaning service, the SilverHandkerchief, a new natural antibacterial product made with pure silver, and more. Becker Chicaiza, of Becker Salon, a support sponsor, will showcase the latest in healthy hair treatments, while Debbie Miron, of Shaklee, another support sponsor, will feature Shaklee's newest and naturally safe products for individuals and the home.

A number of exhibitors will feature ways to relieve pain without drugs or surgery. Stamford Healthcare Associates will introduce low level laser therapy, which uses light waves to promote healing. Avenue Massage Therapy Associates of Greenwich will show how orthopedic massage and therapeutic yoga can work together in pain management, while Bee Well Therapy of Stamford will feature its therapeutic application of honeybee venom. Other exhibitors include Mineral Evolution, Take Shape for Life, the Osborn, Adopt-A-Dog, Easy Care Energy Solutions and more.

A wide variety of healthy foods will be provided by Andy's Pure Food, Cafe D'Azur, Mike's Organic Delivery, Navaratna, Gofer Ice Cream, which will offer low fat sorbet, ShopRite Grade A Supermarket, which will also feature its dietitian and nutritionist, XOCAI Healthy Chocolate and other restaurants and markets. Admission also includes a large selection of complimentary beverages, such AOC Fine Wines, Drinx Unlimited, the Norwalk-based distributor, Planet Fuel Beverages, the healthy and environmentally-conscious juice produced out of Fairfield, O.N.E. Coconut Water and organic beer from Peak Organic Brewing Co. of Maine.
