Former publisher of "New Canaan Matters" and "Local Matters," Greg Reilly has taken his communications skills to the field of insurance. He has joined Daigle and Travers Insurance Agency in Darien as licensed producer of property and casualty insurance -- personal and commercial lines.

"The skills that I developed over the years in magazine publishing apply beautifully to the insurance profession," Reilly said. "The journalistic care that I used in gathering information is now my attention to detail in making sure clients have appropriate insurance coverage. My knack for cultivating client relationships through advertising sales transfers naturally to insurance where trust between agent and client is vital."

The long-time New Canaan resident and father of two current New Canaan High School students, Reilly developed his career in information-gathering and sales -- as editor and publisher at Times Mirror Magazines' Skiing Trade News and sales manager at New York Times Magazine Group's Snow Country magazine before editing his own local publications.

"With Greg's representation and knowledge of New Canaan and neighboring towns Daigle and Travers is now positioned for further growth as we continue to provide the expertise and personal service that we are known for," co-owner Peter Daigle said. "I am proud of the growth we have experience, even in the economic downturn we all have experienced, enabling us to add high caliber personnel."

Daigle and Travers Insurance, located at 22 Thorndal Circle in Darien, is an independent insurance agency specializing in personal and commercial property and casualty insurance and representing top-rated carriers including ACE, Chubb, Chartis, Firemen's Fund, The Hartford, Peerless and CNA.
