Two New Canaan Artists are award-winners at the Marine and Coastal Art Exhibition at the Rowayton Arts Center, 145 Rowayton Avenue.

"Rowayton Harbor," by Marianne Rothballer won first prize in the watercolor category and "Salt Marsh in Summer" by Susan O'Shea placed second in oils.

Works by Virginia Jennewein, Vera Rahn and Antoinette Vardamis also are included in the exhibition, which continues through July 31.

Russell Jinishian, who is regarded as the leading U.S. authority on contemporary marine art, selected the winning artwork in seven categories from 103 entries by 66 RAC members.

"There's no better proof that marine art is alive and thriving than the current exhibition at the Rowayton Arts Center," he said. "It truly reflects the tremendous diversity of styles, media, and subjects that characterizes the best of today's marine art all around the country."

The RAC gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free. For more information call 203-866-2744.
