Ox Ridge School will receive a new, $9,325 sound system and a $5,700 video system in its common area as a gift from the Ox Ridge PTO.

Principal Luke Forshaw spoke on behalf of Ox Ridge in favor of the gifts.

"There are no presentations that exist anymore without some form of media," he said. "Right now, when we give presentations, depending on the strength of the chord, we have video. And sometimes we have audio."

The money would pay for both a new audio and video system to be installed the Ox Ridge Common Room to help for concerts, PTO meetings, fifth-grade graduation, faculty meetings and other school-wide events.

The Board of Education approved the gifts unanimously.

The scheduled installation for the speakers and video system is during December break.

Other contemplated gifts presented to the Board of Education include funding of up to $4,000 from the Darien Junior Football League for the annual rental of temporary lights to be used by the stadium field at Darien High School and $2,000 from the Blue Wave Boosters to cover the cost of renting portable lights during the month of November and possibly into the month of December.

Both were approved unanimously by the board.
