Duwan is no longer a Darien resident, the release said.
"We are extremely thankful for Joe's service to the town during his four years on the Board of Finance," said Jim Palen, RTC chairman.
Orr is a member of the Representative Town Meeting and served on the Finance and Budget Committee for eight years. He has been the committee's chairman for the last six years. The Finance and Budget Committee is responsible for leading the financial and budgetary review of all items which come before the RTM, including the Board of Selectmen, Board of Education and Capital budgets.
"Bruce's financial and planning background, tenure on the Finance and Budget Committee, detailed knowledge of the town's budgeting process and experience reviewing all aspects of the past eight budget cycles make him an ideal candidate for the board," Palen said.
The RTC voted unanimously to endorse Duwan at its Sept. 11 meeting.
"We are extremely fortunate to have such a deep bench of qualified volunteers who year after year step forward to serve on the town's boards and commissions -- to be able to replace one great candidate with another speaks to the breadth and strength of our party," Palen said.
