This last full weekend of summer promises to end the season on a sunny and cooler note, according to the National Weather Service.
With clear skies forecast today, the rest of the weekend -- and right through most of next week -- southwestern Connecticut should expect a daytime high temperature of about 70 degrees and a northwest wind 7 to 11 mph.
Tonight should be clear, with the temperature dipping to a low in the mid-40s and a north wind 3 to 6 mph.
Tomorrow also will be sunny, with a high temperature again about 70 degrees. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-50s.
On Monday, there is a 40 percent chance of daytime showers. Otherwise, skies should be partly sunny as the temperature registers a high of about 70 degrees. Monday night is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 50 degrees.
Tuesday should again be sunny, with a high temperature in the high-60s. Night skies should be clear, with a low temperature in the upper-40s.
The outlook for Wednesday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 70s.
