Darien forecast: Another weekend, more snow

A week after southwestern Connecticut was rocked by a snowy nor'easter, another weekend of snow is in the offing, according to the National Weather Service.

This time, however, there is expected to be far less snow than the 3-plus-feet that buried the region during last weekend's blizzard.

Today will be mostly sunny for much of the daytime, with a daytime temperature rising to a high in the mid-40s. There will be a west wind 5 to 7 mph.

There is a 50 percent chance of wintry precipitation tonight, with rain and snow between 11 p.m. and 3 p.m., then changing to all snow. The low temperature will be in the upper-20s, the NWS says.

Tomorrow, there is a chance of snow before noon, then possible mixed rain and snow later. Skies will be cloudy, with a high temperature in the upper-30s with a north wind 7 to 11 mph.

Snow is likely tomorrow night, mainly after midnight. Skies will be cloudy, with a low temperature around 20 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent, with new snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

On Sunday, there is a chance of snow before noon, with blustery winds, Skies will be partly sunny, with a high temperature 30 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-teens.

Monday -- the President's Day holiday -- will be sunny, with a high temperature in the low-30s. Skies turn partly cloudy by night as the temperature registers a low about 30 degrees.

The outlook for Tuesday, according to the weather service, is for possible rain, cloudy and temperatures in the 40s.
