Today promises to be bright and breezy in southwestern Connecticut, but next week the forecast has a more wintry outlook.
The National Weather Service says today's high temperature is likely to be in the mid-40s under mostly sunny skies, with a northwest wind 13 to 21 mph and gusts as high as 33 mph.
Tonight, however, turns mostly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-20s and a northwest wind 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
Tomorrow will be cloudy with a high temperature in the low-40s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-30s, the NWS says.
Monday should be sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-40s. There is a slight chance of snow after midnight as skies turn mostly cloudy and temperatures dip to a low in the low-30s.
On Tuesday, there is a chance of rain and snow before 9 a.m., followed by mostly rain. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature in the mid-40s. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent, the NWS says. Nighttime brings a 50 percent chance of rain and snow, with a temperature dropping to a low in the mid-30s.
The outlook for Wednesday, according to the weather service, is for possible rain and snow, cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-40s.
