Darien forecast: Calm before the storms

Today should be sunny and warm again, but the National Weather Service warns that tomorrow could be a very different story.

The daytime high temperature today in southwestern Connecticut should rise to the upper-70s, with a west wind around 6 mph.

Clouds move in tonight, with a chance of showers in the early-morning hours of tomorrow. The nighttime low temperature will be about 60 degrees, with a south wind around 8 mph.

Tomorrow, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m., with possibly intense storms -- heavy rains and strong winds -- in the afternoon, the NWS warns in a "hazardous weather outlook." The high temperature will be in the mid-70s.

Storms and thunderstorms are also likely tomorrow night, as the temperature dips to the low-60s.

On Wednesday, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon, skies will be cloudy and the temperature will be in the low-70s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-50s, the NWS says.

Thursday should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-70s. Thursday night will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-50s.

The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-70s.
