Sunny skies of yesterday will give way to mostly clouds -- and a chance of showers -- today in southwestern Connecticut.

The daytime high temperature will continue to resist seasonal levels, rising only to about 50 degrees, with a northeast wind 15 to 17 mph. There is a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after noontime, according to the National Weather Service.

There remains a chance of showers tonight, mainly before 9 p.m., although there should be a clearing trend later, as the temperature dips to a low of about 40 degrees. There will be a north wind 7 to 17 mph.

Tomorrow should be mostly sunny, with a high temperature rising to about 70 degrees, with a northwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming south in the afternoon. Nighttime brings a chance of showers, mainly after 10 p.m., with a low temperature in the mid-40s.

On Thursday, skies are expected to be sunny, with high temperatures in the low-60s. Night skies will be mostly clear, with a low temperature about 40 degrees.

Friday will be sunny, the NWS says, with a high temperature about 60 degrees. Friday night will be mostly clear, with a low temperature about 40 degrees.

The outlook for Saturday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 60s.
