Darien forecast: Foggy, gray & damp

Fog continues to envelope southwestern Connecticut this morning, and light showers will likely dampen the region through early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The fog is not expected to lift until after 1 p.m., and cloudy conditions will prevail for the rest of the day with a high temperature in the upper-40s.

Tonight, there remains a chance of showers into early morning, with temperatures in the low-40s, cloudy skies and a south wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent, according to the NWS.

Showers are also possible tomorrow, mainly before noon. Cloudy conditions will hold sway and the daytime high temperature will be in the mid-50s. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tomorrow night will be cloudy, and there is a chance of rain -- perhaps mixed with sleet -- into early Tuesday. The nighttime low temperature will dip to about 30 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

On Tuesday, there is a slight chance of rain and snow before 10 a.m. changing to rain only until noon. Odds of precipitation are about 20 percent, with a daytime high temperature about 40 degrees.

There is a slight chance of rain and snow overnight Tuesday, with a low temperature about 30 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday, there is a chance of snow between 8 a.m. and noon, with the temperature reaching a high about 40 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the upper-20s.

The outlook for Thursday, according to the weather service, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the 30s.
