Today promises to be another sunny and hot day in southwestern Connecticut.

The National Weather Service says the daytime high temperature will rise to the low-90s and the wind will be from the southwest between 10 and 13 mph.

Because of the day's high heat and humidity, there is an "air-quality alert" in effect today from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. because ozone levels are expected to exceed healthy levels.

Tonight, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a low temperature around 70 degrees and a west wind about 5 mph.

Tomorrow, there remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 a.m. Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny, with a high temperature near 92. There is also a slight chance of chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight tomorrow and the temperature will dip to the upper-60s.

On Monday, there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon, the NWS says. Skies will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-80s. At nighttime, there still is a slight chance of showers and the low temperature will be in the upper-60s.

The outlook for Tuesday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the mid-80s.
