Even though skies across southwestern Connecticut should be partly sunny most of today, there is again a chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon.

The National Weather Service predicts the odds of more precipitation are about 30 percent this afternoon, as the daytime high temperature rises to about 70 degrees. There will be a south wind between 5 and 8 mph.

Tonight, showers and thunderstorms remain possible as the temperature dips to the mid-50s.

Tomorrow's forecast is virtually a carbon copy of today: a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m., partly sunny skies and a high temperature about 70 degrees. There is also a chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow night as the temperature registers a low in the mid-50s, the NWS says.

On Friday, once there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny and the temperature will rise to a high in the mid-70s. Precipitation is possible overnight as well, with a low temperature about 60 degrees.

The outlook for Saturday, the weather service predicts, is partly sunny and temperatures rising to the upper-70s.
