Today will be sunny and warm, the National Weather Service says, but not as toasty as the summer-like temperatures in southwestern Connecticut yesterday.

A "red flag" warning of brush fire dangers in the region also has been issued by the NWS from noon to 8 p.m. today, because of the warm and dry conditions.

The daytime high temperature will rise to the mid-70s, with a northwest wind between 13 and 16 mph.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-40s and a north wind around 14 mph.

Tomorrow also will be mostly sunny, but cooler as the temperature rises only to the low-60s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low40s, the NWS says.

Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-60s. Night skies will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-40s.

The outlook for Friday, the weather service predicts, is mostly sunny and temperatures in the mid-60s.
