Darien forecast: Warm and very wet

Despite the gray, drizzling skies this morning, the National Weather Service the temperature in southwestern Connecticut will rise to a unseasonable, balmy high of nearly 60 degrees.

Early-morning fog will dissipate, the NWS says, but skies will be cloudy -- with occasional showers -- are expected for much of the day.

The high temperature will rise to between 55 and 60 degrees, with a south wind between 7 to 16 mph, later becoming west and gusting as high as 30 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100 percent; new rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tonight, skies will begin clearing as temperatures fall to a low in the mid-30s. It will be breezy, with a west wind 19 to 22 mph, calming later to between 11 and 14 mph.

Tomorrow will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-40s. Tomorrow night will be mostly clear, with a low in the low-30s.

Sunday is also expected to be mostly sunny, with a high in the mid-40s. There is a slight chance of snow showers overnight with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 30 degrees.

On Monday, the weather service predicts, will be sunny, with a high near 40 degrees.
