The proposal to install cameras at the Darien and Noroton boat clubs has been sunk.

At Monday's Board of Selectman meeting, First Selectman Jayme Stevenson said, "Given the fairly strong negative input that I've received from the public, I don't think that I can support this proposal at this point in time."

She said she wasn't convinced about the public safety component that was discussed regarding the camera installation.

Darien Harbor Master Tom Bell told the board that because the members of the boat clubs did not want the cameras installed, he would not move forward with the project.
