The Board of Selectmen will conduct a public hearing at 7:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, on a proposal to increase parking fees.
At its meeting on Monday, Oct. 15, the board discussed an increase of the daily parking rate from $3 to $4 in 2013 and to $5 in 2014. Additionally, the $345 monthly parking pass would rise by $100 over the course of two years.
In terms of daily parking, First Selectman Jayme Stevenson said she wants Darien's prices to be competitive. Stevenson said the goal is to get the permit holders out of the voucher parking spaces and provide "21st-century parking technology."
