WOODBURY — Students in kindergarten through Grade 5, while out of school on Election Day, are invited to experience a “Flanders Explore Nature Adventure” at the Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust.

Children will be hiking the trails to discover wildlife and finding out how animals get ready for the long winter months.

There will also be a visit to the farm to see all of the animals and to the Botany Pond and Hidden Brook. The day will be packed with exploring the great outdoors, and age-appropriate stories, games and art projects.

Also, on the Friday before Veterans day, Nov. 10, students in grades kindergarten through Grade 5 are invited to attend the program, “Pumpkin Mania!,” where they will hike to the barn to decorate their own pumpkins a and visit with the barnyard animals.

Flanders is offering three different sessions for each of those two days. The morning session is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the afternoon session is from 1 to 5 p.m., and the full-day session goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.. The cost per child for either the morning or afternoon session is $30 members and $40 for nonmembers. Full day cost is $60 for members and $80 for nonmembers. Early care is also available at $8 per hour. Pre-registration is required.
