Route 15 reopens in Derby after tree cleared

Route 15 has reopened southbound near the Derby—Orange line after being closed for more than an hour when a tree fell on a car and then across the road, State Police said.
There were injuries in the accident, sate police said. There were two vehicles involved and rescue workers are extricating one of the victims from the wreckage.
Trumbull police say that Spring Hill Road is closed at Cutlers Farm Road due to trees and wires down. A detour is in place, police say.
High winds and strong gusts are continuing to cause traffic problems this morning.
The Merritt Parkway is blocked northbound in Westport just beyond Exit 41, by fallen debris, according to the state DOT.
There were more traffic problems on southbound I-95 in the Milford and Stratford area.
An earlier crash involved two vehicles and shut down the right lane of I-95 between Exits 34 and 32 in Milford.
That accident came about an hour after an overturned vehicle on southbound I-95 in Stratford closed two southbound lanes for a short time Thursday morning.
That crash that happened around 7 a.m. involved an overturned vehicle near Exit 32.
It forced the shutdown of the the right and center lanes. By 7:45 a.m., only shoulder remained closed.
Nearly an hour later there are still delays in the area with traffic traveling in the teens.
Southbound delays stretch across the Moses Wheeler Bridge into Milford.
There are also traffic problems on the Sikorsky Memorial Bridge between Stratford and Milford. The crash has closed the left lane just before the bridge, causing a back up of several miles past the Route 8 intersection in Trumbull.
And, there are also southbound delays caused by traffic slowing down to take a look at the accident.
