'Investing 101' in session at Darien Community Association

Karen Goersch, a private wealth manager with Price Financial Group LLC in Wilton, will help investors navigate their options at a workshop at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road.
"Investing 101: A Guide to Your Investment Options" will explore strategies for informed investing and provide professional tips for ensuring investment and long-term goals are achieved. The topics to be covered are the effects of inflation and compounding; identifying goals and time horizons; risk tolerance and understanding the relationship between risk and return; types of investments -- cash alternatives, bonds, stocks and funds; investment methods, such as dollar cost averaging; and asset allocation.
Goersch, a former CPA, is a registered representative with LPL Financial and a licensed investment adviser with Private Advisor Group LLC, and has both corporate and personal financial experience from years working at Coopers & Lybrand and NYNEX (Verizon).
