Royle principal heads to Ridgefield

Royle Elementary School Principal Keith Margolus has accepted a position as principal of Branchville Elementary School in Ridgefield, according to Austin Drekker, chairman of the Ridgefield Board of Education.

"I think he's going to be a great fit for our team," Drekker said. "He's got a lot of energy. I think he's got a really good track record in Darien. We're very excited to have him join us."

Margolus will start in Ridgefield on July 1, Drekker said.

Interim Superintendent Lynne Pierson and Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education Judith Pandolfo could not be reached for comment.

Royle Elementary School Council of Darien School Parents co-chairmen Shannon Silsby and Shelly Skoglund could not be reached either.

Margolus has been principal at Royle Elementary School since July 2010, according to his LinkedIn page. Prior to that he had worked in the district since 2000.

Margolus could not be reached for comment.

Jason McKinnon, the current principal of Branchville Elementary School, is leaving Ridgefield to become the assistant superintendent in New Fairfield, according to Drekker.
