Senior Moments, the coffee and conversation program for seniors, will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II with a one-woman concert/lecture June 3 at 3 p.m. in the Louise Parker Berry Community Room at Darien Library.
Teacher/performer Diane Cypkin will sing love songs from the WWII era, such as "Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree (With Anyone Else But Me)," "You'll Never Know," "The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "I'll Be Seeing You."
Cypkin will also discuss the love songs of WWII, their popularity, who wrote, played and sang them, who danced and "romanced" to them and what made them unforgettable to those on the frontlines and those on the homefront.
