Sidewalk frustrations continue

Discussion of the proposed budget was intended for the public hearing, but focus on the ongoing sidewalks policy led the floor at the Monday, Feb. 4, Board of Selectmen meeting.
Conversation, spearheaded by Hoyt Street resident Holly Shultz, briefly touched on the thankfulness residents had for the board's efforts, but was directed at the frustrations surrounding the recent evaluation for future sidewalk projects which, in a sense, ranked the importance of constructing sidewalks in seven Darien neighborhoods.
The most contentious project is the Hoyt Street neighborhood. Several residents, many of whom commute into the city and must walk along Hoyt Street to go home, spoke in favor of Shultz's concerns.
