The South Western Region Metropolitan Planning Organization will meet May 23 to discuss transportation policy, programs and projects that concern the southwestern region. Action items include amendments to the FFY2010-2013 and the FFY 2012-2015 Transportation Improvement Program, the Annual Transportation Planning Certification and the FY2014 and FY2015 Unified Planning Work Program.
The meeting will be held at the South Western Regional Planning Agency Offices at the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd, Stamford, at 8:15 a.m. The meeting agenda is available at http://www.swrpa.org/Default.aspx?About=123, on May 18.
The SWRMPO is comprised of the chief elected officials of the South Western Region's eight towns of Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton, and the directors of the region's transit districts. As mandated by federal regulations, the SWRMPO is responsible for transportation policy development, planning and programming of federal transportation funding for the region.
The SWRMPO meets on the fourth Thursday of every month, at either the Norwalk Transit District or the South Western Regional Planning Agency. The public is invited to participate.
