Two charged in Darien home invasion

Alexis Jordan, 22, and Michael Apuzzo, 24, both of 91 Costanzo Court, Hamden, were arrested Thursday, Jan. 30 after a 68-year-old Priscilla Lane woman found Jordan burglarizing her home.

The two were charged with home invasion, conspiracy to home invasion, first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of burglary tools.

Jordan was also charged with third-degree assault of a person over the age of 60.

Police were dispatched to Priscilla Lane on the report of a home invasion just before 3 p.m. The victim told police she was home alone when she encountered Jordan in her bedroom.

Jordan, according to police, hit the woman on the head with a wooden box before fleeing the home.

The woman sustained a minor injury but did not require medical attention.

A broadcast was sent out to all patrol units with a description of the car Jordan was seeing fleeing in.

Officers stopped the car on Hollow Tree Ride Road and found Jordan as the passenger in the car. The driver was identified as Apuzzo, who was also arrested as an accomplice.

They were each held in lieu of $250,000 bond and are scheduled to be arraigned in court on Friday, Jan. 31.
