Darienites lose power after car strikes utility pole on Christmas Eve

4:15 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 -- On Christmas Eve, a motor vehicle accident knocked out power to 600 Darien homes. The vehicle traveled onto the eastbound shoulder and struck a utility pole causing it to snap and block the two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane of the Post Road, according to police.
