DARIEN — Police charged a 55-year-old Old Parish Road man after he allegedly confronted someone who had a protective order against him.

On Nov. 15, police responded to an abandoned 911 call. At the home from where the call was made, police found Christopher McGovern had been trying to speak with the victim about selling the house. When the victim refused to talk to him about this, McGovern knocked several items off a counter in anger. The victim said he did several other minor things with the intention of irritating them.

Officers found there was an active protective order between the victim and McGovern and took McGovern to police headquarters. He was charged with criminal violation of a protective order and released on a $10,000 bond. He appeared in Stamford Superior Court Nov. 16.
