DARIEN — A 44-year-old Darien woman was arrested on assault charges after a fight about text messages allegedly turned violent.

Police responded to a report of a Silver Lakes Drive dispute on Nov. 12 around 7:20 p.m. When police arrived, the victim said they had been arguing with Catherine London about a text message conversation between London and her co-worker. During the argument, London allegedly scratched and bit the victim twice. The victim had injuries that corroborated with their story.

London told the officers the altercation had taken place but told a different version of events.

After investigating, London was charged with third-degree assault. She was released on a written promise to appear in court on Nov. 13 and on the condition she not have any contact with the victim.
