DARIEN — Ten eyeglass frames — worth a total of $5,000 — were stolen from an eyewear store on Tokeneke Road.

On May 26 around 11:30 a.m., an employee at Specs of Darien was helping a customer when a heavyset, white man in his late forties came into the store wearing a white knit hat. As the employee was dealing with the customer, the man said he was “waiting for his wife and needed to run outside.” When the employee finished with her customer, she went over to the case where the man had been standing and found 10 pairs of glasses frames were missing.

The total cost of the stolen frames was around $5,000. There are no known suspects.
