Adult volunteers are needed to make Girl Scouting possible for all girls.
If more adult volunteers are able to give some of their time, more girls will be able to participate in many Girl Scout programs, according to the Girl Scouts of Connecticut. Volunteering can be tailored to skill sets and time availability.
Volunteer must be at least 18 years of age or older, be a positive role model, have a flexible attitude and sense of humor, and must become a member of the Girl Scouts for $12 per year. Support and guidance for all adult volunteers is provided by Girl Scouts of Connecticut. Girl Scout Council staff and experienced volunteers provide accessible, practical courses that make every volunteer's time and efforts more efficient and successful.
Volunteers are trained to guide girls in the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, which enables them to discover new things about themselves and others, connect with new friends and learn about other cultures and places, and to take action by finding ways to make their community or the world a better place. In addition, instruction methods are tailored toward specific volunteers' needs.
