Artist Merion Frolich's artwork will be displayed in the Gratia Gillespie Art Gallery at Atria Darien for the month of Feburary.

An opening reception will take place Friday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Atria, 50 Ledge Road.

Frolich was born in Los Angeles and raised in Juneau, Alaska, where she became inspired by the mountainous natural environment, the wildlife and traditional Indian artwork.

Frolich has had several solo exhibitions, as well as taken part in a number of juried shows. She is a member of the Rowayton Arts Association, the Stamford Art Association and Connecticut Women Artists, and is a life member at the Art Students League.

Frolich's love of painting the water is influenced by the 20 years she spent living on a tidal inlet in Norwalk.

Admission to the gallery is free. The hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. For information, call 203-662-1090.
