Best-selling author Lee Woodruff knows all about the unexpected twists and turns one encounters along the road of life. Without a moment's notice, her life was turned upside down when her husband, former ABC World News Tonight anchor Bob Woodruff, was seriously injured by a roadside bomb during a broadcast in Iraq.
Lee Woodruff will discuss how she found the strength to hold her family together at the 2011 Center for HOPE annual luncheon. The event will take place Monday, June 6 at 11 a.m. at the Country Club of Darien.
The lessons she learned throughout her husbands's long and painful recovery impacted her life. She documented her family's amazing journey is The New York Times bestseller "In an Instant: A Family's Journey of Love and Healing," a memoir she co-wrote with Bob Woodruff. In 2009, Lee Woodruff released her second book titled "Perfectly Imperfect."
All proceeds will benefit Family Centers' bereavement and critical illness support services offered through the Center for HOPE and The Den for Grieving Kids.
