The Darien Nature Center has partnered with UNITE The World With Africa and its Middlesex and Darien High School youth groups, Global Girls and Global Guys UNITE, to present a talk by Jessica Hendricks, founder and director of The Brave Collection, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11.
The event is free, with a suggested donation of $10 per person.
Hendricks is the founder and director of the social organization The Brave Collection, which uses fashion to advocate and fight for the end of modern-day human trafficking and slavery. Hendricks will speak about her own journey, which began as a teenager traveling in Cambodia and led to the creation of a unique bracelet design.
Her goal is to encourage job creation overseas and empower people of all ages to step forward and become part of the solution. Her motto is: "Courage is contagious."
