Police were called to a family party on Birch Road at 9 p.m. July 4 for a report of an argument.

According to police, the resident called police claiming her relatives were disrupting a birthday party she was hosting and that she wanted them to leave. Upon arrival, officers observed a large group of people on the front lawn of the residence.

Patricia Wargo, 52, and her son, Geoffrey Wargo, 21, both of Fairfield, were both charged with breach of peace and interfering with an officer.

According to the report, the mother and son were yelling loudly and arguing with family members. When officers attempted to intervene, both subjects refused to quiet down and became "increasingly disruptive." Police said both were forcibly restrained and taken into custody.

Both individuals were charged with breach of the peace and interfering with an officer. Geoffrey Wargo posted a $100 bond and Patricia Wargo was released on a written promise to appear. Both are scheduled to appear in court July 18.
