Bridgeport man faces Darien drug charges

James Ezra Burns, 35, of 289 Remington St., Bridgeport, was arrested by warrant Friday, Jan. 31, by Darien detectives on charges of three counts of possession of narcotics, three counts of sale of hallucinogenic/narcotic, three counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell and one count of possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of school grounds.
Police said Burns had sold drugs to undercover officers in Darien on three occasions in January 2013. An arrest warrant for Burns had been granted to the Darien police, but Burns was arrested by the New York Police Department prior to the execution of the arrest warrant, according to the report.
Burns had been incarcerated in New York state and had waived extradition to be brought back to Connecticut, police said.
Burns was held without bond and is scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court Feb. 3.
