Franz Moise, 31, of 258 Bond St., Bridgeport, was arrested on Thursday, March 28, on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating with a suspended license, speeding and a defective brake lamp.
At approximately 2 a.m., said police, Moise was observed speeding in a 2002 Buick Century east on Tokeneke Road, and that the vehicle had a defective brake light.
When the officer was speaking to Moise, he noted that Moise's eyes were red and glassy and when exiting the vehicle, he almost fell to the ground, according to police.
Moise was administered field sobriety tests, which he failed, said police.
Additioally, a search of the car yielded a blue straw containing a white powdery substance, which tested positive for cocaine, police said. Also recovered were several small tin foils with burn marks in the center console of the vehicle, according to police. Residue on the tin foil also tested positive for cocaine, said police.
Moise was held in lieu of a $5,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, March 28.
