DARIEN — A car on Red Rose Circle was entered after the door of the garage it was parked in was accidentally left open.

On Jan. 9 at 10:48 a.m., police responded to a call from a 37-year-old male who said his gray 2014 Audi Q5 had been entered overnight while parked in his garage.

The car had been parked on the right side of a two-car garage since 9 p.m. on Jan. 8. The victim’s wife said she thought she closed the overhead garage door and locked the interior garage door to the home. However, the next morning around 9 a.m., the victim noticed the left-side garage door was open. The victim said the door could have possibly been left open overnight.

The man checked his car and found his console and glove box were open and the contents were strewn on the seats. Nothing was taken from the car or the garage and there appeared to be no attempts to enter the house.

Police searched the neighborhood, but found no evidence or suspects.
