Darien police are investigating the theft of a 2013 white Honda CR-V that was reported stolen July 27.
Police met with the 57-year-old owner, who said she had last seen her car when it was parked in front of her home at 9 p.m. July 26 as she was walking her dog, the report stated.
Around 11:30 p.m., she heard a beep that could have been from her car, she told police.
While investigating the car theft, police discovered that the woman's 19-year-old daughter's car had been burglarized, according to the report. Nothing else was taken from the Mazda.
One of the three keys to the Honda was in the center console of her daughter's 1990 Mazda Miata. The other two keys to the Honda were accounted for, police said.
A wallet containing $8, her driver's license and credit cards were also in the car, police said.
No attempts to use the cards were made and the accounts were closed, according to police.
