Checkpoint leads to a DWI arrest

During a DWI checkpoint at the intersection of South State Street and Atlantic Street in Stamford on Saturday, March 2, Robert Tillman, 30, of 35 Lawton Ave., Stamford, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated after an officer detected an alcoholic odor coming from Tillman's vehicle, according to the report.

The Darien Police Department, which processed Tillman, took part in the checkpoint as well as Stamford police and state police.

Tillman failed his field sobriety tests, said police

He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March 12.
