Eight students took home the Superintendent's Citizenship Award after the June 10 Board of Education meeting. The award has been given in the district since the 1976-77 school year.

The award -- given to students in grade five, eight and 12 -- showcases each of the students' qualities of responsibility, concern for others and dedicated efforts on behalf of their schools.

Jordan Cassetta, a senior at the high school, is one of the few to receive the award in fifth grade and in eight grade.
