A Wakemore Street resident reported the theft of two rolls of copper wiring worth an estimated $1,600 from a storage container next to his house on Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to Darien Police Sgt. Jeremiah Marron.

The two rolls of copper wiring were reported to be a 100-foot roll of Type K one-inch copper wire, and a 60-foot roll of Type K two-inch copper wire, according to Marron.

The man said upon discovering the theft, the lid of the container was closed but the lock was gone, according to Marron.
