Corneille Rylander Lucado

Corneille Rylander Lucado, of Saint Simons Island, Ga., died Friday, Aug. 19, at Marsh's Edge. She was 82.
Corneille was born March 20, 1929, in Americus, Ga., to the late Corneille Torrance Rylander and the late Arthur Rylander. She was a homemaker and had been a resident of Sea Island for 25 years before moving to Marsh's Edge. Prior to residing on Sea Island, she lived with her husband for 20 years in Darien, where she was a member of the Junior League of Stamford-Norwalk.
Corneill is a graduate of both Saint Mary's Junior College in Raleigh, NC, and the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She received her bachelor's degree in teaching and taught second grade at The R. L. Hope Elementary school in Atlanta, Ga.

She is also a member of the Capital City Club of Atlanta and the Golden Isles Duplicate Bridge Club of Saint Simons Island, where she enjoyed many friends and years of playing Bridge. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church.
In addition to Corneille's parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Webster Lucado. Survivors include her children Corneille (Neil) Lucado of Saint Simons Island, Ga and William (Webster) Lucado of Gray, Ga.
A graveside service was held Monday Aug. 22, at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on Saint. Simons Island, Ga. The Rev. Dr. John Stephens officiated. Internment will follow the service.
