Kelly Corrigan, the author of the memoir "The Middle Place," will headline The Community Fund of Darien benefit luncheon, which takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Country Club of Darien.
At the event, which is co-sponsored by Barrett Bookstore, Corrigan will speak about her new book, "Glitter and Glue."
This is a return engagement for Corrigan, who visited Darien in 2008 to discuss her memoir.
Corrigan, also the author of "Lift," formerly worked in the nonprofit sector for 10 years.
On her website, www.kellycorrigan.com, she writes, "That decade created my world view, which goes: people are struggling; make yourself useful."
One of Corrigan's projects is "Notes & Words," in which musicians and writers come together on stage in a benefit for Children's Hospital Oakland.
According to Corrigan's website, nearly $4 million has been raised.
