Marlon Zammit, 39, of Bronz, N.Y., was charge with first-degree larceny, first-degree larceny, two counts of credit card theft, one count of credit card fraud and eight counts of credit card fraud Nov. 28.

Zammit's arrest stemmed from a complaint April 3, 2009 when two credit cards were stolen from a wallet while the owner attended a yoga class at Equinox Fitness. The owner noticed several charges including $5,830 for a Rolex watch, $4,347.33 for a woman's watch and $800.30 for a handbag were charged on his credit cards. Police later received a call from East Chester, N.Y., police saying they had received complaints of a similar thefts in their town. A regional meeting of police departments in Fairfield County and Westchester County determined Zammit as a suspect, police said.

Zammit was held in lieu of a $20,000 bond and appeared in court Nov. 29.
