The Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road, has a full season of events, classes and programs available for members and nonmembers alike.

For more information, visit dariendca.org or call 203-655-9050.

Among the offerings are:

Page Turners Book Group

The Page Turners' new season will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, and will meet monthly.

The book choice for September is "Orphan Train" by Christina Baker Kline.

Page Turners members take turns leading the monthly discussions. DCA membership is required to join, and participation is free.

Drop-in Mah Jongg

Drop-in Mah Jongg will take place from 9 a.m. to noon weekly on Monday.

Situated in a private room on the second floor, DCA staff will provide as many tables and Mah Jongg sets as needed. This is a nice, no-fuss way to play with friends, or meet other players in the area, without any prior commitment.

The cost is $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers.

Body Tune-Up

Body Tune-Up classes will begin Wednesday, Sept. 3. The mildly aerobic exercise class, led Dora Mercede, is designed to tone and strengthen muscles and increase flexibility. Many moves are adapted from Pilates, yoga and dance. Classes will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday through Sept. 29. The cost is $6 for members and $8 for nonmembers per class.

Duplicate Bridge

Starting Monday, Sept. 8, Duplicate Bridge will be played weekly at 12:30. The cost is $12 a game. One of the partners must be a DCA member. The games, led by Bill Wood, are on a drop-in basis, so reservations are not required.

Supervised Play Bridge

Starting in September, instructor Karen Barrett will offer two weekly classes, which players can attend with a partner or on their own. For each class, a short lesson will be followed by the play of eight prepared boards, to illustrate the topic of the day, always with an emphasis on both play of the hand and defense. Barrett will provide a written explanation of both the bidding and the play of those hands.

"Supervised Play-Intermediate Bridge" classes will take place 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday beginning Sept. 18.

"Supervised Play-Advanced Intermediate" classes will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday beginning Sept. 8.

All classes are drop-in play so reservations are not required. The cost is $20.

Bridge: Rules of Play and Bidding

The "Continuing Beginning Bridge: Rules of Play & Bidding" will be led by Meredith Dunne. Classes will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday from Sept. 16 to Oct. 21. The cost is $150 for members and $170 for nonmembers. Prepayment is required by noon Thursday, Sept. 11.
