Darien Day at the Stamford Symphony
Published 1:30 pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2011
The Darien Music Department, in collaboration with the Darien Music for Youth Organization and the Stamford Symphony, announce an opportunity for students and their parents to attend a symphony concert entitled "Ragtime Rendezvous" featuring renowned pianist Terrance Wilson performing the music of Gershwin and Joplin with the Stamford Symphony Orchestra.
The Stamford Symphony's "Advance the Arts" program has offered the Darien Music Department a block of tickets for our Darien students, parents and staff at the reduced rate of $30 per ticket. Each ticket purchased allows one student a free admission to the concert and all of the proceeds will assist the Darien Music for Youth organization in bringing guest artists into our schools to work with our music students. This is an excellent opportunity to share world class music with your children and also support music education in our schools. There will be an educational presentation for children with one of the Symphony musicians and another for all attendees with symphony music director Eckart Preu, both beginning at 2 p.m. prior to the 3 p.m. performance.
