Darien Energy Assistance Program accepting applications

The Darien Social Service Department is accepting applications for the 2012-2013 energy assistance program.

Proof of income is required, which includes, but isn't limited to, Social Security, pension employment and interest income from any source. For those who are employed, pay stubs from the last four weeks are required.

Proof of liquid assets is also required. Individuals, couples and families may have liquid assets up to

$10,000 for home owners and $7,000 for renters and still remain eligible for the program.
